DSM-5 criteria
The DSM-5 criteria, reworded for quick lookup. The chapter view shows each diagnosis as a short card; open a diagnosis to see its full criteria, set out in plain words. Both are reworded summaries, so use them as a fast working reference, not a word-for-word copy of the manual. When the exact wording matters, as it does when you diagnose, code or document, check the DSM-5-TR.
Reworded summary of the DSM-5-TR criteria, not a word-for-word copy. Check the manual when the exact wording matters.
About this reference
- What it is. Psychofarm's condensed summary of the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, organized by chapter, for clinicians and trainees.
- What is shortened. Wording is reworded throughout. The short cards abbreviate further, and on both some explanatory text, coding notes and fine print are shortened or left out.
- How current it is. The full criteria pages follow the DSM-5-TR, the current edition. The short cards are based on the DSM-5, and some include updates from the DSM-5-TR. They are not perfect and may contain mistakes. If you spot one, tell us and we will review it.
- Not diagnostic. Educational content only. It does not replace the DSM or your training and clinical judgment, and it is not medical advice. Full disclaimer.
